PRODUCER/ENGINEER

Paul Yarrow started his career in music recording and production in 2001 working in London as the in house producer/engineer for ground breaking independent label Champion Records and Champion Music and Management who’s catalogue covers releases by Robin S, Maxi Jazz and Sista Bliss. Here he worked alongside acclaimed song writer Eddie Seago, who's writing credits include Tom Jones and Cliff Richard, as the artist development team for the label.

In 2003 Paul was offered the opportunity to work at the Ark Studios in Islington, London for producer and founding member of Faithless, Rollo Armstrong. Here Paul worked as part of the engineer team on Dido's " international number 1 and platinum selling album “Life For Rent”, lucky enough to work alongside and learn from experienced chief recording engineer Phil Brown who’s credit’s speak for themselves including Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley and Talk Talk.

Over the past 15 years Paul has worked on many commercial and underground releases as a recording engineer, session musician, remixer, vocalist and producer. Release credits include: The Beginerz, Bini Martini, Jarvis Church, Deep Swing (AKA Sunkids), The Adaptations, Bias and River Nelson. Paul topped the Nu Disco buzz chart with his 80’s style club remix of the Sounddiggers “My Revolution” and received 5/5 in DJ mag for his 2006 release “Hard Times” which included a Bouncy Head Doctors Jackin’ remix.

Paul’s passion for music and sound recording has lead him to branch out into other areas of the music industry and in 2007 started a website, www.logic-cafe.com, giving online tutorials and resources for music producers.  In 2011 Paul entered the world of product development for music producers and has released his first physical product, the ControlSkin keyboard cover for Logic Pro, which received 4/5 in Future Music magazine and was on Music Radar’s 2012 top ten recommended Xmas gifts for music producers. The concept has now evolved into three variations and a physical keyboard all currently available. Paul has since developed bespoke music production software products including writing harmonic key recognition algorithms in The Grid, Interval Chord Constructor and Pulse 16 all available to purchase on www.logic-cafe.com.

In 2008 Paul entered the world of sound for film and became part of successful movie projects working as a sound recordist, Foley artist and audio post producer. This included working for director Tristan Versluis, known in the industry for his prosthetics and gore FX in movies and TV shows such as Game of Thrones and the 2015 box office hit “The Revenant”. Paul was commended on his sound design work on horror short film “I Love You” written and directed by Tristan.  Paul also worked as sound designer on the hugely successful “Hunt For Gollum” Lord of the Rings independent film directed by Chris Bouchard which received in excess of 13 million views and involved a production team of over 120 people.

Since 2004 Paul has been involved in Music Technology education, lecturing at music colleges in London and working as an online tutor for Point Blank Music. Most recently Paul worked for Pearsons (Edexcel) Education and part of the course development team, individually writing units for the new BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology specification to be delivered in schools and colleges throughout the UK from September 2016.
